What a day!

AMAZING is the only word I have to describe it.

Yesterday Mushroom Soufflé and Red Shoots held our first Business Exhibition to help potential start-ups, new and existing businesses at the gorgeous venue of The Lambert Arms.

To be completely honest I was nervous. Very nervous. But then the day started to roll and what followed was incredible.

I can’t even describe the buzz that took over the Lambert’s conference rooms, it was networking at it’s best (and I’ve done quite a lot of networking as some of you will testify to!). Exhibitors, speakers and visitors all mixing and finding out about each other’s services and products, setting up 121s, consultations and confirmed bookings.

Then I come to our speakers…

Lizzie Whyte opened with pizazz! and talked about having motivation and your vision, the goal, your dream where you want to be. It covered driving cars, business planning, chatty chickens, going back to uni and breeding goats – entertaining as always.

I received some lovely feedback on my talk on why use social media, how it helps to support your business and some top tips to be successful with it.

Then we come to the fantastic Ayd Instone! Pure brilliance and totally inspiring. His subject of being “Unique” is perfect as that is what Ayd is. Talented with guitar, mouth organ, singing, writing and imparting crucial information in a memorable style – he was truly the highlight of the day.

The dynamic Jan Campbell had a hard act to follow but she pulled it off by showing us that by keeping our flow and processes simple and clean and by ironing out the kinks we can increase turnover and provide great service!

Our day was closed by the fabulously glamorous Sylvia Baldock. Interactive networking session and advice on how and why building your relationships is crucial. It got a lot of people to understand why networking can be so important to your business to help it grow.

I am overwhelmed by the support shown to us, our exhibitors were all marvellous and true professionals and experts in their areas. We had our own personal paparazzi in the form of York Smith Productions who filmed for us throughout the day (we will have footage to put up next week) and Jacqueline Cross Photography (photos to come too!). MASSIVE thanks to you both from Lizzie and I.

I have already received some lovely emails from attendees and exhibitors:

Dear Lizzie and Sarah
You ladies are phenomenal – truly exceptional
Congratulations and thank you for a perfect day.

I thought today was a resounding success. I hope you are jolly pleased with yourself and have had a glass of bubbly or two to celebrate.  Well done.

The preparation notes were excellent and the mix of exhibitors really well thought out. Great balance in  the speaking slots too.

Wow!  What a brilliant Seminar.  I am certain I will be joining many others in emailing you to say well done both.

So, thank you to everyone who has helped us to make it a success and especially to my partner in crime Lizzie Whyte! No rest for the wicked, now we can get moving on our next one at Brunel University on Thursday 3rd November…maybe I should get out of bed now, so much to do!
